Squirrels of the world, you have been warned!

Well, I don’t think Maggie is going to catch any squirrels (she never did before surgery…but never stopped trying) – but we went on our first walk at the park today and the chase was on!  Maggie didn’t quite get to a full run, but definitely a fast trot.  And jumped at the base of the trees.

She was SOOOOO happy to be out and about.  Walks half-way up and down our street were getting boring.

Just over two weeks from her front leg amputation, recovery is now going well.  I’ve calmed down.  She’s adjusted.  Good day!

A song for walks

Here’s a really silly song I sing to Maggie when we are going on LONG walks ALL THE WAY to the next-door-neighbor’s yard.  Excitement!

You, are rockin’

A brand new way of walkin’!

And you’re not stoppin’

Your super cool way of hoppin’!

Maybe I’m just sleep deprived (I am), but singing this in a really cheerful way just made our evening potty walk a bit more fun.  Feel free to add some lines!

Surgery and recovery tip #1…don’t forget to block off the couch before sitting down to start your Tripawds blog.  I just heard a big heave-ho and Maggie plopped herself up on the couch.  Oops!  I’ve now made a terraced exit route with my mattress and her firm foam bed so she can gently hop down in 3 steps when she wants to.  Live and learn, dog-mama.
